Husband vs. Wife

Someone needs to explain to me how my husband can spend hours in the middle of no where, track, and kill a deer, with out any problem but cannot seem to find things in a drawer, cabinet, or freezer in our house.
Why do men have this problem? I remember my dad would claim my mom would "hide" things, when in reality he never really "looked" for them.
Tonights example...I made apple pie and told Darrell that we had vanilla ice cream, in the freezer outside,to go with it. He goes out side and comes back with no ice cream, claiming there is not vanilla in the freezer. I go out and open the freezer, move a bag of frozen veggies, and voila...vanilla ice cream!! Darrell just smiled at me. I however don't understand. It was right there!!!!!!! LOOK for it.

Is this why husbands always ask their wives, Have you seen my...fill in the blank? Are we the keepers of all knowledge for things they have misplaced? And why is that? He lives here too. He knows where things are.
Again he still asks if we have toliet paper...knowing full well that if it isn't under the sink, there should be some in the hall closet. If it's not there, then we're out. It have been like this since we've lived together!! (we've never un out)And I know Darrell's mom has the same system as well. But alas I hear..
"Honey do we have any toliet paper?"
I reply.."Did you look?"
"Umm. no."
Again I reply, "Well then look."
Really it's a simple concept. Even Jack knows where his diapers are. You can ask him to go get one and sure enough, he'll toddle back to his room and get one out of the basket. Not once yet has he had to ask where they are. And he's only 1 1/2!!!!!

Little Men

I know I am the mom of a little boy ... these have taken over my kitchen sink window!

Basement progress

With summer in full swing here in St. Louis, we've not been able to work on the basement too much. We've been busy with birthdays, holidays, and injured puppies! But...Darrell has managed to get bits and pieces done on the basement. Tile is set!!! Darrell finished the bathroom and moved on to the kitchen. It looks awesome, I married Bob the builder!!

Henry update(a little icky!)

My bonus kid finally was released yesterday from the vet and got to come home. It looks a lot worse than it is. The vet is very positive and says he will make a full recovery. We have to make sure he stays clean and is doing all the normal doggy things. Henry is still a little timid and still not real receptive to anyone messing with him, but is making progress. Keep him in your thoughts!

warning pic's area little icky!

Dad's day, Doggy update, and date set

First off, Happy Fathers Day to all the dads in my life!
I hope you all enjoyed your day! Darrell spent his fishing at Mark Twain Lake with his dad. As his gift, I scheduled a 4-day fishing trip as a surprise. He loved it and had a great time.
Jack and I spent Father's day in Ste. Gen. We went down and met for lunch at "The Hotel". Yum!

Second...Henry is doing okay. He is still at the vet being watched. He is running a fever now and they won't release him until it's back to normal. We'll see what happens.

And third...Whoo Hooo Mexico is booked!!!

Doggy ER

This afternoon our schnauzer ,Henry, ran into the street and was hit by a car speeding around the corner by our house. He is at the animal hospital undergoing tests and they are monitoring him. The idiot driver was on her cell phone going waaay to fast when she came flying around the corner. She hit him as Henry was running back across to the house. Henry got up and kept running into our back yard(flight reflex). Darrell said his skin was separated from the muscle and when Darrell tried to help him, Henry bit Darrell's hand. Darrell rushed Henry to the ER and they are taking good care of him. The Vet said he should make a full recovery.

Ahh Summer

Drinking from the hose.

More time...

to blog would be nice. I started this whole blog thing while home with Jack as a way to keep up with him and what was happeneing in our family. But now it seems I have no time to do it. So you all will have to excuse the tardiness of these posts and the amount of them all in one sitting!!

We've been keeping busy these last few weeks...we had house guests for a week while they waited for their new home to be ready. We enjoyed a visit from Darrell's Aunt Judy and Uncle Joe over Memorial Day weekend. We managed to get a trip to Forest Park in and some quality Daddy time. The days seem to be filling up quickly and before I know it Summer will be over, but that's another post.
Some catch up photos..
