Catch up Nov 2010
So this month has been a little crazy. We've had a lot going on. I am back at work for a little while. Darrell has been hunting every weekend and took the last week and a half off to hunt. Jack turned 3 years old on the16th! Megan is getting bigger every day! And we had a welcome visit from my cousin Tom and his wife Audra from TX. The week before I went back to work I took the kids to the Museum of Transportation and Jack LOVED it! They have a special play room for all things "train" and even have a pirate ship. so her we go with the picture over load!

Memo to Megan
For the love of God Megan , please sleep. The business of waking up and not wanting to go back to sleep has got to stop. Mommy needs to sleep. This is payback for sleeping through the night so early isn't it?

random Friday
Darrell has almost finished the playground. Still needs the shade canopy on top, a few more boards, and the telescope mounted, but it's basically finished. Jack's been climbing on it everyday!
Megan's still growing and has got the belly thing down. Only problem now is she rolls over in her sleep and wakes herself up.
We're getting ready for Halloween too. Jack been practicing hopping like a frog and saying "trick or treat!" We'll see what happens on Sunday!

Playgrounds and pumpkins
So it's time to play catch up! I've been slacking on the posts so here's a quick couple.
Darrell has been building a swing set in the backyard for the kids. It's moving right along. Jack had a blast "helping" daddy.
We visited Rombach Farms with our friend Stephanie, her daughter, and her sister. Jack got to pick out a pumpkin, go for a train ride, and play on the tractors. He had so much fun!
We also hit a couple milestones with Megan this week. I started her on cereal, which she seemed to love. And Megan rolled over for the first time!!! She is growing so quick.
Enjoy...

Megan update
I took Megan to the Dr. today for her 4 month check up and she's right on track! She's weighing in at 14 lbs. 1.5 oz.. And is now 24.25 inches tall! She's doubled her birth weight and grown 4 inches. Unfortunately for Megan she put the weight on in her hips(just like her mom!)! She did have 2 shots today but was a trooper and only cried for a minute.
We also went to have our family pictures taken today. It was the most stressed out I've been in a long time. We tried a different studio this time and was not impressed. I set an appt. time of 10:30, arrived at 10:15, and still had to wait almost 40 minutes before we even got into the room. By that time Jack had lost it and was all over the place and our patience was about gone. The facility even tried to "help" by bringing in another staff member to hurry us along, which didn't help. In the end we did get some good pictures, but we won't go back to that facility.

Apple picking 2010
Since the weather couldn't get any better this past weekend we took the kids over to Eckerts for apples and pumpkins. Jack has been asking to pick apples for the last 2 weeks!! And got even more excited when he got to pick out his own pumpkin! Jack actually picked his own apples this time and Megan got to hang out in the carrier all day! Not a bad deal! There is nothing better than a fresh picked apple, except maybe the apple pie I made last night!! Here are some pics...
10 years
Last Thursday Darrell and I celebrated 10 years of marriage. It's hard to believe it's been that long and even harder to believe we've been together for 16 years! After all we've been through over that last 10 years we decided to treat ourselves to a mini vacation to Hermann, MO for a few days. We booked a room at Montegue's BnB and spent a couple days enjoying wine and being kid-free. The weather was awesome and we had a blast!

Rainy day and Mickey Mouse underwear
Could rain anymore?? We've had pretty bad thunderstorms roll through since last night. Jack slept through it all and Megan was up once, I think just to check it all out!
So I figured what better time to attempt big boy underwear with Jack than a rainy, pajama day. So far no accidents, but no actual using of the potty either. We'll see how it goes. Wish us good luck!!
On a side note...I'm going back to work tomorrow! I am working at Ameriprise Financial as a financial specialist. It sounds more important than it is! It's more of a support role. It's a little bitter sweet...I am excited to go back to work, but I am sad to leave Megan. She's starting to laugh, grab at toys, and she just loves to smile at you! She does something new every day. The up side is Jack and Megan will be going back to daycare full time and Jack LOVES his babysitter Fonda. Plus he'll get to play with all the other kids.
