So it's been a rough couple of days in the parent-child relationship department. I think I've officially changed Jack's name to, "You better not or it's time-out" And as I type I am watching Megan, who seems to have given up on afternoon naps, walk back and forth to the time-out mat. She walks to it, turns around, sits, giggles, and then does it all again. She's been doing this for about 15 minutes now. Monkey see-Monkey do.
Whoever coined the terrible twos was sadly mistaken. Three is much worse. They have their own attitude and are coming to realize that they are capable of manipulation. I imagine the age of three is close to what it's like to have a teenager, but without the hormones. They will test everything! No fear.
For the ages of 3 1/2 and 13-17, I apologize to my parents.

Mokena 2011
Last weekend we took our first roadtrip with both kids to Mokena, IL to visit the Almodovar's. We were able to enjoy some local favorites like the Children's Museum and great local food. Jack and Megan loved playing with Isabella and we all had a great time catching up. Thanks to Bobbi and Dan for hosting us and for the awesome sangria!!!

Baseball, Splash-park, 4th of July, Oh My!
What was supposed to be a schedule free weekend turned into a busy weekend. But those are usually the best kind! I took the kids to a splash-park at Creve Coeur park with the Jersa girls last week and they loved it. Everytime the water would dump out Jack would scream his little head off which made Megan giggle like crazy. Such great free entertainment!
We also took advantage of awesome Rascals baseball tickets. The Rascals are our local minor league team bases here in O'Fallon. We were lucky enough to get first row tickets so Jack was able to see everything. And we arrived early and the kids were allowed on the field to warm up with the players. Jack had a blast and even better was meeting our friends the Nolan's and the grass bleachers!
And last, but not least, we braved the rain and went down to the St. Charles 4th of July parade and carnival. Too many beads, too much candy, and two tired kiddos!
