Jack's First Day of Preschool

Little man started preschool today!! He was so excited and very brave. He didn't even hesitate this morning, I got a wave good-bye and down the stairs he went. I did great too! Only teared up a little on the way home! So when I went to pick him up, his teacher Ms. Toulou, said he did great today. He told me they learned about the color orange and the pledge of allegiance. Jack said he is ready to go back! Whoo Hoo!

Cupcake Truck

Last week as a special treat I took the kids to Sarah's Cupcakes truck. I love the idea of food trucks. I wish they were more popular in MO. Not that O'Fallon is a great location for these types of eateries, but the novel idea of specialized, clean, food trucks intrigues me. There has been some negative press around town regarding these mobile eateries so please, if you are headed downtown or around the metro area, check out a food truck !!! Added bonus... the cupcake are FABULOUS!!!! Yummmmmmm.

Jack's First Movie

This coming week Jack and I will have a lot of "Mommy and Jack time". We are finishing up his swim lessons so I am taking Megan to daycare instead of Jack. We started off our week with Jack's first trip to the movies. We saw "Winnie the Pooh" and Jack did great. I was preparing for the worst, loud talking, the "why"question through the entire movie, not wanting to sit still, ya know, all the general horrible kid things. Instead I had the best date I've ever had with a 3 yr old!!! And I even got lunch out of the deal! Okay I did have to pay, but it was worth it!!

Michigan 2011

We did it. We survived our first real road trip with both kids! And they are both still alive!! Last week we headed to Dexter, MI to visit with Aunt Judy and Uncle Joe for a few days. Being our first road trip we decided to travel overnight, thinking the kids would sleep the whole way. Jack didn't fall alseep till about 10pm, Megan woke up as soon as we pulled off for our 1st gas stop. Finally about 12:30 both kids we're sound asleep and I was driving with peace and quiet, until we hit the Indiana/Michigan boarder. I think I must have driven into a monsoon. It was raining so hard and lighting like crazy. Everytime lightning would strike it would blind you. So we spent about 20 minutes under an over pass while truckers flew by. We finally made it to MI only to find that the storm had knocked out power at Judy and Joe's. So we spend the first 2 days of our vacation trying to find COOL activities. We visited the Ann Arbor Children's Museum. We picked fresh Michigan blueberries. And for Darrell's birthday, Joe and Darrell took a fishing trip out on Lake Erie. We had a great time and a big thanks to Judy, Joe, and the whole MI crew for their hospitality!!
